In the constellation of green innovation
The backwardness of the country is not treated with recipes of the past.
The development model that followed has become saturated. It does not respond to new needs and requirements. We need a different approach, a different management, both of the problems we face and of the opportunities and possibilities offered. A typical example is the key issue of waste management and its utilization.
It took many years to realize that we do not deposit waste in landfills. We don't even burn them. But applying all modern technological methods, we process and reuse them. With this practice we protect the environment and improve our quality of life. At the same time, we strengthen entrepreneurship and create new jobs. We gain significant financial benefits.
Greece, unfortunately, also showed an unprecedented delay in waste management. While advanced countries have made significant, not just steps, but leaps. It seems that the crisis shook us, showing us the way to go.
ESDAK is also following this path. It has not only upgraded its services and work, but is at the forefront, developing remarkable initiatives of pan-Hellenic scope.
One such is the Conference that he organizes on March 29 and 30 at the Conference Center of the Municipality of Heraklion on the subject: "Regional Planning of Solid Waste Management - Path to the Circular Economy".
The Conference is attended by a multitude of officials from politics, local government, business, the scientific and university community as well as technocrats and agency representatives.
After the remarkable campaign to limit the plastic bag, ESDAK and its President Haris Mamoulakis are picking up speed, putting the Association in the constellation of green innovation.
